About Peterborough
Peterborough is
a vibrant town of 6,100 residents located along the Contoocook River and Nubanusit Brook in the Monadnock region of southwestern
New Hampshire, known for its natural beauty and emphasis on the out-of-doors.
Often referred to as having "postcard charm", our town has a thriving center featuring small shops, businesses, restaurants, art

part of life in our community. The town is home to the renowned MacDowell Colony, which celebrated
its 100th anniversary last year; and Peterborough Players,
the oldest operating summer theater in the country.
Peterborough
is surrounded by mountains and over 200 lakes and rivers, and prides itself on a strong
